Join us for an evening of learning! You are invited to the Ontonagon Conservation District Annual Meeting & Election on November 3rd at 6pm at the Rockland Township Hall. Featured Presentation by speaker Emily Locke, Private Lands Forester with the American Bird Conservancy. All residents of Ontonagon County are eligible to vote in the annual election (id required).

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no food or drink will be provided. Masks are strongly encouraged per CDC guidance.
Ontonagon CD meetings are public meetings, everyone is welcome. (Masks are encouraged.) Members of the public can provide input or ask questions during the general public comment period at the beginning of each meeting.

Through March 30, 2021 Michigan Senate Bill 1108 and 1246 amending the Open Meetings Act allows for remote participation in public meetings for any circumstance. Therefore, due to Covid-19 concerns the Ontonagon Conservation District board is meeting virtually through March 30, 2021.

To all residents of the Ontonagon Conservation District, notice is hereby given that on the 3rd day of November 2022 at 6:00pm, the Ontonagon Conservation District will hold a board of directors election and annual meeting at the Rockland Township Hall, 101 National Avenue, Rockland, MI 49960. The annual meeting will feature speaker Emily Locke with the American Bird Conservancy who will present about the importance of preserving, maintaining, and restoring bird habitat. On September 19, 2022, being forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the election, absentee ballots are available for voting in the election by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling 906-231-0382. In person voting can also occur at the prior date and time above. Positions for Election: One (2) year, and Two (4) year term. Candidates: Valerie Talsma (2 year), Michael Jarvi (4 year), and Al Warren (4 year). Residents are individuals of legal voting age who can demonstrate residence in the Conservation District (Ontonagon County) via one (1) piece of identification.
